Richmond Police say they found the suspected Race Street shooter, 21-year-old Tony Gay yesterday afternoon. He was found on Canterbury Road after police responding to a report of a man with a gun in the area. Police encountered Gay while investigating the complaint. They say he wasn’t the subject of that complaint and wasn’t armed. He has been charged with assault, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Police suspect Gay was the man who shot a 21-year-old Monday afternoon at the intersection of Race and Spring Streets. The victim was taken to UK Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
