Man Steals Car from Manhattan Club

A man was arrested on Sunday after police say he stole a vehicle from the parking lot of the Manhattan Club. A man reported just before 1:30 on Sunday morning that his 2006 Volkswagon Passat had been taken. He said he left his keys on his table inside the building. A canine officer on patrol found the car around 3 that morning on N. Keeneland Drive. As the officer turned, the car speed away. If was located on Garden City Drive where police found 23-year-old Christopher Smith standing next to the driver’s side. Smith then ran away from police. The canine was able to track Smith hiding in a fence line. He was charged with receiving stolen property and fleeing or evading police.
