Kentucky Utilities Rates May Increase

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities have reached a settlement agreement involving base rate cases before the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Under the agreement, KU customers using 1,000 kWh per month can expect to pay an extra $4.82 per month. The agreement recommended also lowers late payment charges, extends time for customers to pay bills, gives LG&E and Kentucky Utilities responsibility for natural gas services and provides charitable giving. If approved by the Kentucky Public Service Commission, rate increase will take place in January.
