Officials in Madison County say an inmate died Saturday night at the jail. 28-year-old Charles Hoffman was pronounced dead around 8:30. Hoffman was being held as a fugitive from another state, wanted on a parole violation warrant in Michigan. State police say it appears Hoffman took his own life. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
