Garrard County Home Invasion Suspect Charged in Connection with Madison County Burglaries

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office say they’ve charged a man shot in a Garrard County home invasion in connection with several Madison County burglaries. Officers were investigating a black SUV seen leaving the scene of several burglaries in the county in January. Police learned a suspect who was shot in a Garrard County home invasion in February drove a vehicle like the one used in the burglaries. After deputies interviewed the suspect, Jared Pitman, he confessed to the thefts. Several victims have been able to get their property back and the department is working to identify owners of remaining properties. Pitman was charged with burglary and theft by deception.
