State police say they are investigating a burglary and shooting in Garrard County. Around 4 yesterday afternoon, police responded to a burglary in the Cartersville community of Garrard County on Jennings Road. Police say the homeowner fired a shot at a suspected burglar. Troopers found 26-year-old Jarred Pitman of Waco with non-life threatning injuries from a gunshot wound. He was taken to UK Hospital for treatment. Police say charges are pending for burglary.
