Officials at Eastern Kentucky University announced today that Dr. Verna Lowe has been selected as the Dean of the EKU College of Education. Lowe is the current Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies and Assistant to the President for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning at Asbury College. Kroger employees reported a woman took several items of jewelry from their boxes; hide them on her person and left. The jewelry’s estimated worth was $1160. The man accused of complicity to murder, kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence in the deaths of Richmond couple Sonsaray Warford and Charles Walker appeared in court today. 33-year-old Lebruce Ellington was in court for a pretrial hearing. His attorney asked the judge for more time to collect Private Dustin Gross The Kentucky State Highway Department says a part of Highway 460 in Montgomery County will be named after Pvt. Dustin Gross. 19-year-old Gross was killed in May 2012 in Afghanistan. The “PFC Dustin Gross Memorial Highway,” will stretch from Camargo to Jeffersonville. State police say 31-year-old Ronald Michael Davis of Berea was being pursued on I-75 after his vehicle was linked to a service station shooting at the Athens-Boonesboro exit. Police say a woman was shot at MORE Man Killed After Police Chase Saturday From Madison County On Wednesday, Richmond Police went to North Madison Avenue to locate 23-year-old Sheona Tonge. Police had a warrant for failure to appear. An officer made contact with Tonge and she told him she was someone else. Another officer arrived that was familiar with Tonge and revealed her true identity. As Richmond Police say on Wednesday, they charged 22-year-old Logan Browning with 18 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. Police say Browning stole personal checks from a woman in November and forged and passed 18 of those at local banks, totaling $1396.50. Investigation identified Browning as the suspect.
